‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2 spoilers: Howling for love
Do you want some more romance mixed with your “Once Upon a Time” season 2 scoop? It’s almost a given at this point with a show that revolves largely around happily ever afters that romance will be involved, even with characters that don’t exactly have a Prince Charming or any prince at all on the horizon.
At the moment, one of those characters is clearly Little Red Riding Hood, or Ruby if you prefer her Storybrooke name. At the moment, she seems reasonably content with working her little job and Granny’s Diner and going about her day-to-day business helping to stop curses and get families back together. (Ordinary stuff, right?)
But when is the focus going to be about her rather than how to help everyone else? It will probably come at some point … but just not yet. As Meghan Ory tells TVLine, there’s no romance for the character at least on the immediate horizon:
“Well, the last time she was in love, she ate her boyfriend, so… I don’t know that she’s really open to going down that road again! But I’m very curious to see how she deals with that because at some point somebody will come knocking and she’ll have to decide if she wants to open the door or not.”
At the moment, it’s also hard to tell just who she could be romancing, anyway, even if she wanted to. Most of the male characters are already tied romantically to someone else, and there are others (Captain Hook, Dr. Whale) that we see being more compatible for other characters (Emma, Regina). The only real candidate that is currently around is Archie, and it’s not like these two have had enough time together to actually explore anything. (Then again, the lack of Raphael Sbarge this season makes it hard for him to really develop any sort of long-term story.)
So could an upcoming character played by Ethan Embry change that? Sure, but we don’t even know who this guy is yet! Therefore, it’s awfully hard to speculate.
