‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Lea Michele, Kate Hudson set to duet!

Thus far on “Glee” season 4, both Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry and Kate Hudson’s Cassandra July have performed songs themed largely around their environment at NYADA as well as each other, but they have yet to actually sing together in some capacity. However, that is going to be changing soon … very soon.

In a new post on Twitter, Michele (who has been shooting the Christmas episode as of late) confirmed this news by talking about some of what she is up to at the moment in the studio:

“Just finished a great recording session [with music guru Alex Anders] for #Glee! Recorded a really cool bway duet for me and Kate!!”

So when will this duet actually happen? That is a question certainly worth asking. As far as we know, Hudson’s stint on “Glee” season 4 is just for a few more episodes, and we would be surprised to her extend her run deep into 2013. The best guess right now is that either this duet is for the Christmas episode, or they are already in the process of recording something for an episode airing early next year. Traditionally, the recording process happens a little bit earlier than the episodes are shot.

Whenever Hudson’s stint on the show is done, we imagine that Rachel would move on to a new class with a new teacher, which could lead to some more appearances from Whoopi Goldberg’s Carmen or someone completely new to the show. (Start the guest casting now!) No matter what happens, we just hope that this duet a showcase of some of the vocal prowess and intensity that these two characters seem to inherently possess.

What song do you want Lea and Kate to perform on the show?
