‘How I Met Your Mother’: Another connection to ‘The Goodwin Games’
As you may have heard via our previous article, Fox made a rather surprising decision recently when it came to the future of their new series “The Goodwin Games,” reducing its overall episode order to just seven despite the show not even airing yet on TV. The reason for this has been explained thus far as being merely a scheduling issue, as the episodes allotted to the current shows on the schedule have not left much room for anything else.
However, what you may not know is that there are more folks upset about this move than just the cast and crew of the show itself. There are a number of clear “How I Met Your Mother” connections here in executive producers Craig Thomas and Carter Bays along with actress Becki Newton (who played Barney’s ex-fiancee Quinn), but we now know that the master of “suiting up” himself in Neil Patrick Harris has played a role in this new series. How sow? We’ll let him explain for us in a post on Twitter:
“Way to go, Fox! You ceased production on the new show Goodwin Games before it even aired! I directed episode 5 – the show is hilarious … My ask: when (and if) Fox does (briefly) air Goodwin Games, make sure to watch and show your support. The talented GG gang deserves it.”
Just in case you are wondering why Harris has not stepped behind the director’s chair more on his own show (which many actors do), there is a specific reason: executive producer Pamela Fryman is the directing wizard on this show, and also serves as an executive producer to go along with it.
