‘American Horror Story: Asylum’ spoilers: Who is Anne Frank? (video)

There have been some moments of brilliance throughout what has at times been an uneven “American Horror Story: Asylum,” but Wednesday night’s new episode could very well be its finest hour … and it is all courtesy of a character who is claiming to be one of the most prominent figures during the Holocaust in Anne Frank.

Is this mysterious woman really who she claims to be? This is a question that will hopefully be answered during the two-part episode that begins this week, as we start to figure out some more details here and there about what we should expect. The character’s arrival will be mysterious enough, but even though Lizzie Brocheré’s character (who was talked about with great mystery before the show even began) is someone under a heavy veil of secrecy, the veil will be slowly lifted.

As for the rest of the episode, get ready to see more of a man in Arden who actually seems to be so evil that he puts Sister Judge to shame. We will learn a great deal more about his backstory, and somewhere in here potentially find out just what has forced him into being the man that he now is, which includes a bizarre fascination with women of the cloth and dismembering them while they are still alive. (See last week for more evidence of this, at least if you are well enough to stomach the scene again.)

What do you think about this teaser, and could this Anne Frank character be who they are claiming that they are?
