Is God Friended Me new tonight on CBS? Within this piece, we come bearing a little bit more news on that. Not only that, but we’re looking towards the future of the series, as well.

Let’s just get the bad news out of the way right now — while it would be nice to get the Brandon Michael Hall – Violett Beane series back on the air tonight, it’s not happening. Instead, we’re gearing up for a brief hiatus that is going to be continuing both next week and the week after. The series is poised to return on Sunday, January 5, at least with one episode that is sure to be emotional.

So what is going to be happening when the series returns? Let’s start off here with the following — Miles and Cara’s relationship is in trouble. We do think that there’s a lot of love here, but there is also conflict courtesy of the God Account. It seems as though Cara wanted to believe that the God Account was out to do good for everyone, but what happened to her stepfather was a betrayal. Because Miles is still so close to said God Account, that makes any sort of relationship between the two rather difficult, or even borderline impossible.

This brings us to where Miles’ mission currently seems to be on the upcoming batch of episodes: He wants to find a way, somehow, in order to ensure that he can learn the God Account’s identity. If that happens, he thinks that he will be able to get out of this arrangement one way or another. We’re not sure that this is possible, but we’re not sure a lot of things are possible when it comes to the God Account actually separating itself from Miles and Cara. This is, fundamentally, what the show is about! It’s hard to see that changing in the end.
