The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel renewed for season 4 after big weekend

Amazon is going ahead and making one thing clear — they want more of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel moving forward.

In a statement, the streaming service confirmed that there are some more episodes coming up for the Rachel Brosnahan-led series, and it’s coming following what was one of the most successful weekends in recent history for the series. Here is some of what Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke had to say in a statement on the subject:

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been a worldwide phenomenon, and Season 3 has been no exception, with the series’ most watched opening weekend ever … We’re so happy that our Prime Video customers will get to see Midge’s story continue in Season 4. Amy and Dan have created such funny, charming, relatable characters, all with their inimitable wit and eye for detail.”

So at this point, it’s clear that viewers love Mrs. Maisel. They love it so much, in fact, that they want to give everyone some really-great news about it early. There’s also a statement from executive producers Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino:

“We were thrilled to hear that for the fourth time, we do not have to pack up and vacate the premises. We’d like to thank Amazon for all their faith and support, their partnership and enthusiasm, and for letting us hang with our favorite people, the cast and crew of Maisel, for a little while longer.”

As for allowing us to get some further details on season 4, all we know is that production will be starting up next year. Depending on how long it lasts, it’s possible that new episodes could premiere either in late 2020 or early 2021. Beyond the fourth season, we definitely do not think that there’s going to be any hurry when it comes to ending the series. Shows these days often don’t last longer than six or seven years, and we have to imagine the series will last for at least that long.

What do you think about The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel being renewed for another season?
