‘Private Practice’ season 6 spoilers: Sheldon’s blast from the past

“Private Practice” season 6 has been in a holding pattern for much of the fall, whether it be due to the Presidential election or Hurricane Sandy that is causing the show to face so many frequent pre-emptions. When we do see the show return to TV on Tuesday, November 13, the news worth celebrating is that there is plenty of good stuff on the way.

With that in mind, it only seems appropriate to share some casting news that should make fans of “Veronica Mars” pretty happy (even if we are not talking about Kristen Bell here). According to a report from TVLine, Kari Coleman from the cult favorite has been cast here in the part of Sheldon’s ex-girlfriend, who has been talked about on the Shonda Rhimes show in the past but never seen. So what sort of role is she going to have on her arrival into this universe in front of the camera? Based on the scoop coming out now, it looks like she and her old flame have worked their way back up being friends with benefits.

At this point, it may really do “Private Practice” season 6 some good to actually have some real fun on the show again, rather than just routinely putting their characters through increasingly tragic situations. Already this year alone we have seen the likes of Pete’s death, Mark’s death offscreen, and the struggles of Addison to choose between Sam and Jake (which she has, though this did not come particularly easy for her).

What do you think about this casting?
