Yet, we can go ahead and assure you that Katie isn’t going anywhere. She, alongside Ricky Duran, were two of the artists declared safe almost right away. As the episode went along, Jake Hoot and Rose Short also had a chance to move forward. Joana Martinez and Will Breman were next. Then, Marybeth Byrd, Hello Sunday, and then Kat Hammock.
As we got close to the end of the results show, we learned that Myracle Holloway and Shane Q were in the bottom — and, therefore, eligible for the #VoiceSave. These two had their work cut out for them trying to win over America at the last second — we can’t say that we were too surprised by these results, but that’s only because we didn’t have them in our personal top five last night.
In the end, though, the singer who advanced was Shane! He’ll have a chance to keep fighting, but note that singers who are in danger at this point very rarely end up winning the whole competition once you get to the finale. The Voice is a show where often, favorites are established early — sometimes, as early as the very first audition.
