Better Call Saul season 5: Breaking down two new photos!

It’s now been revealed that Better Call Saul season 5 will be premiering on Sunday, February 23. To go along with that, they released a teaser and then also a handful of new photos! Within this article, we want to take a look at a couple of them that are currently catching our eye.

Let’s start with the one above, given that this one is absolutely striking for a number of different reasons. Take, for starters, the fact that Huell is back! Given his long association working with Saul Goodman on Breaking Bad, we’re not altogether shocked to be seeing him here.

Yet, we are a little surprised to see that Jimmy has adopted some of Saul’s signature style so soon … or what we are at least assuming is soon. It’s possible that there is some element of a time jump at the start of season 5, as the writers may want to give Jimmy some time to build up his new identity.

You also get a little of said style/identity in the second photo below, one that signifies further that for this incarnation of the “criminal lawyer,” some of his best business is done away from the office. The bright suits are something he’s tried on before here or there as Jimmy, but there was no guarantee he’d find his way back to it.

In general, what we think these photos represent is Jimmy working to talk more of a walk on the wild side and embrace some of his inner chaos. He tried to be good (at times), and maybe on some level he feels like it didn’t get anywhere. After his frustrations with the Bar, he may now feel intent on making them regret the very decision to give him back a legal license in the first place.
