Lucifer season 5: A brief midseason finale title tease!

For those who haven’t heard the news as of yet, Lucifer season 5 is going to be split up into two distinct halves. That means you’ll have to wait a while longer to get the series finale — not that we’re complaining, since we’re now getting sixteen episodes as opposed to the original ten that were ordered. This also ensures that we can get the first half of episodes perhaps a little bit earlier than we originally would have.

Unfortunately, we’re at that point in the season now where the writers have to be a little bit careful about giving away spoilers. They don’t want to give away the game, and that even includes giving away too many details about episode titles. Most of these titles are named after quotes from various characters, so that requires them to perhaps be even more cagey than they ever were before.

If you look below, you can get the latest episode-title tease from the show’s official writers’ room. What do we know at the moment? Not that much. Think in terms of this — there are two words to the midseason finale, and there’s only one letter that they gave away. If this was a game of Wheel of Fortune, we’d be banging our head against the wall. We do wonder if the final word could be “Chloe,” given that it is only five letters — given that there was an episode last season entitled “Save Lucifer,” doesn’t it make sense that this could be “Protect Chloe”? The writers say that there’s another subtle clue hidden within the tweet, so maybe they are protecting the title just as Lucifer may need to protect Chloe.

Anyway, that’s just our theory — with the limited amount of information here, we don’t want to get too confident about anything right now.
