Arrow season 8 episode 4 spoilers: Echo Kellum returns in ‘Present Tense’
One of the things that we’ve seen throughout Arrow season 8 are opportunities aplenty for callbacks. To date, we’ve seen Colin Donnell, Josh Segarra, and Willa Holland all come back, and we have to imagine that there will be a few others who surface before the story ends. While Curtis Holt may not have been an original cast member, at the same time he is an important part of the series’ history. He’s helped to make Arrow the series that it is thanks to his work over the past few seasons.
So what is coming up beyond just the return of Kellum? Think along the lines of a new Deathstroke, one that should provide all sorts of reminders of season 2 — arguably one of the best seasons of the show and one of the best villains. (It’s a bummer that we haven’t heard much about Manu Bennett returning to the series, given everything that he brought to the table.)
Below, CarterMatt has the official Arrow season 8 episode 4 synopsis with some other insight as to what’s coming up next:
ECHO KELLUM GUEST STARS – When a mysterious new Deathstroke appears in Star City, Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Team Arrow insist on taking down this villain themselves. Meanwhile reeling from the loss of one of their own, the future Team Arrow figures out a new way to try and stop JJ. Kristin Windell directed the episode written by Oscar Balderrama & Jeane Wong (#804). Original airdate 11/5/2019.
As you can see by the later part of the synopsis, this is a story that is coming up all about loss. It’ll also be about recovery … and we suppose, on some level, bringing you closer to whatever that future spin-off with Katherine McNamara at the center of the action.
