Fuller House season 5: Jodie Sweetin’s big directing day
If you hadn’t heard the news so far this week, the actress behind Stephanie Tanner is directing her first-ever episode of television this week, and it should be a fun one. The title is “The Nearlywed Game,” which is some evidence, we suppose, that we’re gearing up for a big wedding near the end of the season/potentially the series itself. Below, via Instagram, you can also see the cast surprise her with the gift of cupcakes — consider this the sort of thing that is going to make her big day in the director’s chair all the more fun.
Like when Candace Cameron Bure directs episodes of this show, it feels like Sweetin has all of the experience in the world in order to properly pull this off. Just think about it for a moment — she’s been around these sets for much of her life, in between the original Full House and then also where she is now. She knows these characters and this crew after being on this show specifically for years. She’ll also be surrounded by helpful people. This is a great chance to get that director credit on her resume, given that there could be all sorts of opportunities for her down the road if she wants them.
As for when we’ll actually get to see Jodie’s episode on Netflix, you may still be waiting for a while. The first half of Fuller House season 5 could premiere later this year, but we wouldn’t be altogether shocked in the event that Netflix made you wait until 2020 to actually see the final batch. We’ll hopefully get a little bit more information on that over the next few months.
