Arrow series finale title, final words revealed
In a new post on Twitter, Marc revealed that the final episode (which he wrote alongside Beth Schwartz) is entitled “Fadeout.” That’s one of those series-finale titles and fails to require that much discussion. What matters more than anything else is that you have a chance in order to feel like the journey is coming full-circle.
If we had to guess, we’d say that there is one word we would use to describe the finale: Heartwrenching. It’s hard to say goodbye to the series that started it all, especially with a ten-episode final season that isn’t going to give us all that much time to digest just about anything. You also have to remember that the final season is going to have an episode that is a part of Crisis on Infinite Earths, and another that could be helping to plant the still-mysterious spin-off with Katie Cassidy, Katherine McNamara, and then also Juliana Harkavy.
Will Emily Bett Rickards return as Felicity in the series finale? That is one of the larger questions that we have right now about the final episode, and that’s one that makes us nervous. In the end, though, our thinking on it is simply this: In the event that we do see Felicity turn up in the final episode, it doesn’t feel like the sort of thing that they would want out there in advance. Sometimes, the element of surprise can very much prove to be a good thing.
Unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait for a while in order to see the final episode of Arrow air — think in early 2020, on the other side of the epic crossover. That is what shrouds everything in a greater degree of mystery.
Oh, and we should as mention that Guggenheim also posted the final two words of the finale script: “Of possibility.”
