Fuller House season 5: Who is back in the director’s chair this week?
Luckily, we still have a chance to watch all of these episodes! New installments are coming to Netflix later this year, or at least that’s been the plan. That is without even noting the possibility of the series operating some sort of split-season model, which we talked about in a prior post. It may be 2020 until the series formally comes to an end … at least in terms of it streaming.
For now, the news that we have on the subject of the show is fairly simple: Candace Cameron Bure is back in the director’s chair this week! She posted photographic proof on her Twitter, and this marks yet another return to a role that she’s occupied here and there over the past year or two. We imagine that the appeal of directing comes from learning a different skill — it’s something that you can apply to different projects down the road. If the opportunity is offered to you, why not take it? That’s something that Dave Coulier has also taken advantage of, and we know that Andrea Barber also opted to serve as a writer for an episode this season, as well.
As for whether or not Bure’s episodes stand out when you see them, it’s hard for them to on a superficial level. Most sitcoms have to adhere to a very specific form, so unless you notice the name in the opening credits, you may not notice all that much throughout unless there are a few specific mentions of it. Yet, even Bure managing to match the directing quality of the other directors on the show, ones who have been doing this gig for years, is a nice feather in her cap and a testament to her work ethic.
