‘Private Practice’ season 6: Amy Brenneman, Kate Walsh talk show’s end
As you have probably heard officially by now, “Private Practice” is going to be dropping the curtain after six seasons at some point early next year, and this means that we have to say goodbye to one world that we have come to know as an offshoot from “Grey’s Anatomy.” We have already heard from the show’s creator and executive producer in Shonda Rhimes; and now, it also only seems appropriate to share a few assorted thoughts from some people who have called the show their TV home for several years.
Let’s start with Amy Brenneman, who could have actually been one of the people to potential continue on with the show if it had seen its run extended beyond 13 episodes this season; it’s understandable that she would be sad, but more than anything else, she sounds (at least via Twitter) rather grateful just to have been given such an opportunity in the first place:
“Oh Tweeps. Sad about PP, very sad about not seeing the greatest cast ever. Grateful to @shondarhimes for a great gig.”
Meanwhile, Kate Walsh (who was confirmed to be leaving the show this year regardless of whether or not it actually continued) said in response to a fan that she is “proud and thankful for all [her] years on the show.” Without Addison, this series would have never existed, and it may actually be her journey that is one of the most interesting out of all the characters that we have seen. After all, she started off on “Grey’s Anatomy” as a relatively hardened character in a miserable relationship, and it appears now that she has started to find some peace and happiness … even if the road to it has been incredibly difficult.
How much are you going to miss the show?
