911 season 3 filming scenes in Mexico, per Oliver Stark

911 season 2

When 911 season 3 premieres on Fox a little bit later this fall, you’re going to have a chance to see some of the characters outside of their element and we are excited to see how that’s going to play out!

In a new post on Twitter (which we have for you to see below), Oliver Stark confirmed that he and some other cast members are in the process of filming new episodes of the series in Mexico. Isn’t this a chance to make these new episodes stand out more? We definitely think so, given that this could allow for an opportunity to see people in a different element, likely dealing with different sorts of crises in a different country perhaps?

For many series this fall, it does feel like one of the primary goals is expanding the overall universe. Think about it this way — SEAL Team has been spending some time filming overseas in Serbia this month, while Blindspot over on NBC has filmed everywhere from Japan to Iceland. 9-1-1 going to Mexico isn’t even as ambitious as what those other two shows are doing, at least in terms of location. It could still be more ambitious in style and execution, depending of course on how things look in the end. Filming in Mexico gives the story more authenticity as opposed to just fixing up some street in Los Angeles to look like a totally different country.

New episodes of 9-1-1 are going to be premiering on Fox in the fall and with many loose ends tied up in season 2, there’s going to be an opportunity for the show to go in a new direction. That’s without even mentioning another series that is coming up in 9-1-1: Lone Star, premiering in the new year. We would imagine that there will be a couple of crossovers that happen between the two shows over time, even if we don’t think that it’s going to be some sort of short-term priority to get the two mixed-up together.

What’s the top priority? Delivering top-notch action, drama, and lighthearted character moments in perfect rotation.
