Is Claws renewed for season 4, canceled at TNT? Current ratings, odds

Is Claws renewed for a season 4 over at TNT, and is there a chance that we will see the series get canceled? Within this article, we come bearing the current ratings and some more info!

The bad news at the moment is that entering the finale, there is no 100% word as to whether or not a Claws season 4 will happen. We want to remain optimistic that there’s going to be a chance for more episodes, but we’ve come to know at this point that nothing in the world of television is guaranteed.

Yet, we’re optimistic that there will be a little bit more in the way of information on Claws coming up before long … and we’re also optimistic that it will be good news. This is one of television’s most creative shows, one that is all sorts of weird, wacky, entertaining, and also heartfelt at certain times.

If there is a drawback and/or a reason to be afraid, it’s this: The numbers for Claws season 3 are down significantly from what they were in season 2 … at least in terms of the live numbers. Season 3 is averaging a 0.3 rating and then just over 800,000 viewers; we’re sure that the show is getting a lot of DVR/streaming viewers, but after staying pretty steady from season 1 to season 2, it’s down more than 30% in some live measures in season 3.

While we don’t think that Claws is the sort of show that is destined to be on the air forever, there is still a good bit of gas left in this particular tank. Think in terms of Desna’s evolution and journey from nail-salon owner to crime boss. There needs to be more time in order to figure out if Niecy Nash’s character will get redemption, or eventually descend down the rabbit hole into utter chaos. There’s often only one way that a character’s story in Densa’s position ends, and that’s with death. We’ll just have to see if that ends up being the case here.

If Claws does get renewed for a season 4, our current expectation is that it’s going to be premiering in the summer of 2020. This is the timeslot that has worked for the series to date, and we have a hard time thinking that this is going to change.
