The Good Doctor season 3 promo breakdown: Shaun, Carly’s date

The top story that is obvious from this promo is that Shaun and Carly are out on their first date together, and there are a few hopeful signs buried within here that things are going okay. Take, for starters, the smile that Carly has while out at dinner with him. She doesn’t seem uncomfortable and she appreciates Shaun’s company. This is hardly a blind date — the two have history being around each other stemming from their time in pathology together. They know each other and they have an understanding of how they each work. Work relationships don’t often lead to great romantic relationships, but they could here with the right effort.
What Carly needs is patience, but judging from the end of the promo, it seems like things are moving in the right direction! It feels like Carly gives him permission with her eyes for Shaun to go in for a kiss, and then you see Shaun lean in slightly before the promo ends. Alas, they don’t give you all of the information here that you are so eagerly searching for!
As for another key takeaway, it looks like Dr. Glassman is back at work! While we don’t get a ton of footage of him within this promo, it does look as though he is sporting a lab coat and ready to get to work back at the St. Bonaventure Hospital. After everything that he went through and the struggles he took on with this weird, abnormal part of his life, there may be a part of him thrilled to be able to find a sense of normalcy again. Yet, his normalcy is still ever-changing thanks to his engagement.
