The Hills: New Beginnings video: Is Heidi’s music career returning?
Think back to the earlier days of “Superficial” — it feels like that was a completely different era of history! That’s no comment on how old The Hills is; instead, it’s just a reference to how fast-paced the world of reality TV moves. There are hundreds of different shows out there, and Heidi is a pioneer of a very specific subgenre of reality television: People wanting to become pop stars. We’ve seen time and time again reality TV personalities want to launch music careers and, to Heidi’s credit, she had more notoriety with hers than most.
Is there a chance at a revival, though? Well, Heidi is at least considering it … or at least that is the vibe we get from the sneak peek below. She’s talking with Justin Bobby about whether or not she should give it another go, and seems to be thinking in terms of some of the different ways that she could benefit from it. She also feels like she’s in a very different place in her life than she once was and she’s in a position now where she has a little bit of something more to offer. Could she do more personal music, or stuff that is of a completely different style?
It’s hard to tell based on this sneak peek below if anything happens … but consider this a foundation to something. If we were Heidi, we’d drop some music at the end of the season just as a way to capitalize on the show’s ratings. The Hills: New Beginnings may not be an earth-shattering hit on MTV, but it is generating some decent numbers. Not only that, but it’s been renewed for a season 2 already! It’s going to be relevant for at least a while in the near future.
