‘Veep’ season 2 spoilers: Jonah’s going to have company…
“Veep” was one of our personal favorite comedies when it aired on HBO earlier this year, but sadly, much of everything that is going to be happening is still shrouded in mystery. Producers have been extremely tight-lipped about the storyline, but one of the main reasons for that may just be that the second season of the show has yet to even start filming.
However, this is changing very soon, and we have just learned a valuable bit of information: just who is going to be joining the show’s cast. Former “Luck” star Kevin Dunn has been added to the show in a recurring role, where he will be playing the chief of staff for the president by the name of Ben. (Meanwhile, Amy is still going to be around as Selina’s own chief of staff.) We don’t know how many episodes in which he will appear in, but we do expect there to be plenty more in the way of conflict between him and the president’s office.
As excited as we are about this casting, we are still hoping that it will not in any way ultimately take away from the presence of Jonah, who is one of the greatest characters on the show. He’s arrogant, delusional, and more than anything else, he really wants to be loved after pretty much being the lowest of the low in the president’s office. We are still happy, though, that “Veep” refuses to cast the president, and thus allows us to feel as though this is really Selina’s world, and everyone else around her is just beneath her.
What do you think about this casting, and are you hoping that the show casts any more new characters for the upcoming season?
