‘True Blood’: Who’s talking about ’50 Shades of Grey’ now?
First, we heard Alexander Skarsgard opening up about his thoughts on the “50 Shades of Grey” movie, and how he finds it hard to believe that anyone would want a part without at least looking at a script first. While Stephen Moyer is not really in the running for Christian Grey by any estimations (largely thanks to the fact that he is too old for the part), that isn’t stopping him from speaking out about the obsession.
Speaking out in a new interview with Mr. Porter about the reason in which vampires are so popular at the moment, the actor took an opportunity to related what he does on the hit HBO show to what we are hearing about with some regularity now courtesy of the E.L. James novel:
“A vampire also treats you with old-fashioned manners, while at any point he could overwhelm you and rip your life away … There’s something very sexually exciting about that. Look at Fifty Shades of Grey.”
For whatever reason, there has been a sort of fascinating lately when it comes to TV actors becoming attached to a potential “50 Shades of Grey” role, and it’s hard to figure out why. In addition to Skarsgard, such names as Ian Somerhalder of “The Vampire Diaries” and Matt Bomer of “White Collar” have also been mentioned, but for the time being there’s really not much of anything to back it up when it comes to evidence. As a matter of fact, James and some of the movie’s producers have already said that they are not going to cast the film until they have both a director and a screenwriter on board.
What do you think about Moyer’s comments, and do you think that a TV star is better equipped to break out in a “50 Shades of Grey” movie than someone already affiliated with film?
