Siren season 2 episode 15 preview: A time for a sacrifice

Siren season 2 episode 15 is entitled “Sacrifice” and after hearing that, the immediate reaction we have is concern. How can it not be? This is the penultimate episode and this is when many bad things happen on TV these days. We feel like Game of Thrones accelerated a trend of shocking moments at around this time back in season with Ned Stark. Since then, there’s been a willingness to really go big and bold when it comes to some of the stuff that some shows are willing to put out there. It’s a trend we see ending anytime soon.

So for this particular episode, we’re going to see a critical episode stuffed full of revelations for several characters. With Helen, for example, she’s going to do what she can to get help from the hybrids in order to protect the mermaids. Meanwhile, Ben and Xander are going to find themselves in a position where they have to make some immediate decisions.

Ben and Xander are left dealing with a shocking discovery about Chris and his connection to the military. Meanwhile, Helen and Maddie reluctantly seek help from the hybrids as the threat of extinction looms over the mermaids. Ryn encounters the journalist who continues to chase his theories on mermaids to increasingly desperate ends.

Desperation is the name of the game entering the finale since there is so much at stake, whether it be the fate of all mermaids or what’s going to be happening with some of the show’s core relationships. While a season 3 renewal may not have been announced during season 2 production, we think the writers were aware that they would likely be back for more near the end of the season. Because of that, they may have planned accordingly for some big surprises once they made it to the end of the road this time.

We’re going to be building towards something big with “Sacrifice” — as for what that is, maybe we’ll learn more in due time.
