NCIS season 17 table read is here! Wilmer Valderrama teases Ziva’s return

The first NCIS season 17 table read of the season is here, and as all Ziva fans know, this is incredible news. Ever since the closing seconds of the season 16 finale, the excitement over getting Cote de Pablo back is palpable. It was her first appearance since leaving the show years ago and there are MANY questions we all have for her going into the new season. Take, for example, where she’s been all of this time and whether or not Tony knows anything about her still being alive.

For now, you’re going to have to wait for some of those answers … but know that we’re gearing up for some exciting stuff. In a post on Instagram, Wilmer Valderrama (Torres), (who is a great ambassador to all of us NCIS fans), shared a first photo from the aforementioned table read. Note that you can only see a certain percentage of the cast in attendance. Is that to obscure a possible Cote de Pablo sighting? Maybe, or it may just be the way that the photo is being taken.

Remember this — there’s no real reason for NCIS to hide the return of Ziva for the premiere, as they announced following the season 16 finale that Cote is going to be in the premiere. The future of Ziva on the other side of the premiere is still unclear but through the next few months, maybe there will be some clarity on that subject. For the record, we’re going into the premiere expecting this to be the only Ziva appearance — the last thing we want is to get our hopes up!

The NCIS premiere is airing on CBS in late September, so there’s a little more than two months to go until we get some more answers on what’s coming up for the character. Fingers crossed for some fun behind-the-scenes teasers every step of the way and we will have it all here for you.
