‘The X Factor’ USA delayed by baseball; ‘Ben and Kate’ on instead
For those of you who have been anxious to catch this week’s episode of “The X Factor,” there is some bad news coming out now; thanks in part a rain delay in baseball, the new episode of the show airing on Wednesday night is being pushed back.
At the moment, it is still not clear whether or not the show will be airing at all Wednesday; at the moment, what we are hearing is that executives are waiting until 9:30 p.m. Eastern to make their decision. If for whatever reason baseball finishes up before that time, the new episode will run. Otherwise, the network is instead just going to go with a repeat and try to figure out a new time down the road to air the singing competition.
At the moment, the one thing that we can confirm is that Fox has opted to air a repeat of “Ben and Kate,” and then another “X Factor” rerun in hopes of keeping some of the devoted fans around. Unfortunately, what this move really does show at the moment is how much baseball, which generally does not generate great ratings prior to the world series, destroys Fox’s schedule in a big way during the fall. Last year, “The X Factor” faced a similar crisis, and even ended up having to air an episode on Sunday in order to fit everything in at the end of the day.
What do you think about this news, and are you still hoping to stay up in order to watch the show?

What a huge error by Fox. NBC did the same thing in the ’60’s when they cut away from a football game between the Oakland Raiders and NY Jets. NY was behind by two scores so the Exec’s cut away to air Heidi. NY scored twice in less than two minutes and won. Heads rolled over that one. Google it.
This will be national news tomorrow.
