Better Call Saul star Bob Odenkirk appearing on The Simpsons
Speaking via Entertainment Weekly, show executive producer Al Jean confirms that you’re going to be seeing Odenkirk stop by the long-running animated comedy coming up in the role of a mob lawyer, one who will do his best in order to represent Fat Tony. Or, he really just wants to make as much money as possible. Here is some of what Jean had to say about the character:
“He charges by the minute so he speaks… really… slowly … He just wants money for talking to Fat Tony.”
The rest of the episode, airing this fall, is going be set around a pickpocketing operation, one with Homer Simpson at the center of it:
“Homer is the mark because he’s got such a big butt so he’s a good target for pickpocketing … Fat Tony is arrested but he didn’t do it — and he has to find out who did do it.”
For some other fun, note that this episode was written by Bob’s brother Bill Odenkirk, a co-executive producer on The Simpsons. Both brothers have a shared love for comedy writing, as this is a part of what made Bob a household name in the first place. He’s got Saturday Night Live, Mr. Show, a number of other credits, and then in the end getting to play Saul Goodman. Better Call Saul season 5 is premiering on AMC at some point in early 2020.
As just about every single person out there knows, Bob Odenkirk is joining a long line of people to appear on The Simpsons. This show probably has the longest roster of guest stars in TV history — there are so many names out there that it’s almost impossible to count them all! The part of this where Bob’s brother is writing it is one of the reasons why it’s special.
