Disney Channel tributes Cameron Boyce following his death
This afternoon, the Disney Channel put out a video tributing Boyce, looking back at some of the notable moments that they had with him as a star over the past few years He was an important part of the network’s family and even if he moved on to other things, he would always be at the center of everything that they did within a certain era of history. There are a lot of viewers out there who grew up on shows like Jessie and on the Descendants movies, which taught kids to love musicals and also embrace old Disney properties in a way that they may not have done before.
To go along with this tribute, Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger also shared a message of condolences:
“The Walt Disney Company mourns the loss of Cameron Boyce, who was a friend to so many of us, and filled with so much talent, heart and life, and far too young to die. Our prayers go out to his family and his friends.”
Boyce, prior to his passing, was starting to move more into increasingly adult material with a role on the upcoming show Paradise City. There will be more posthumous work of his you have a chance to see and we can only hope that all of it showcases him at his best.
If there’s one last thing we would say, it is to exercise patience. We know that a lot of young fans want to hear Boyce’s friends and co-stars talk about their time with him, but they should be allowed to have the time to grieve that they need. Everyone handles sadness and loss at their own pace and this is not the sort of thing that can be rushed. There will be proper tributes to Cameron over the next several weeks, but it will take some time.
