Blood & Treasure Season 1 Episode 6 review: More interesting questions are asked
This week Danny and Lexi follow a clue to the mountains of Spain in search of a lost train car that may have carried the sarcophagus of Cleopatra when it disappeared. However, the pair were met with two challenges; Carlo, the leader of the Mafia from episode 1, and Omar and the rest of Farouk’s men. After a gunfight between the mobster and Omar take place, Danny and Lexi discover that the surviving Nazi from the train crash killed some Moroccan soldiers and left for Casablanca with Cleopatra.
This series definitely brings the curiosity every week and after six episodes, we are starting to see a certain level of procedural elements to this show. Every week so far the mystery of the location of Cleopatra remains along with the procedural element and we rather like that. It’s a different way of taking on a show that more resembles a long-form series and again, it’s another reason we love it, It manages to bring you so many different things at once.
The other big storyline of the episode is Lexi crossing paths with antiquities dealer Simon Hardwick, who offers her new information. We haven’t met Simon a lot so far but his connection and interest in the Brotherhood and Cleopatra is thrilling because we know he’s involved … but how? That adds another layer of fun to the story.
Beyond these individual elements, the pace of this series so far is great. Each week we get closer to finding Cleopatra as well as getting a better idea of who these characters are. Lexi is definitely the character who is coming together so nicely because of all the secret relationships she has. The first being with Danny, then with Fabi and the Brotherhood, and now with Simon Hardwick. We know eventually, all these relationships will meet and we can’t wait to see what happens. On the other side with Simon, he is a mystery we are so curious about. Episode 6 revealed that he has been looking into the Brotherhood for a while, but now we are wondering why.
We can only hope that as we move forward, we get some answers to the many questions posed by the writers. In addition, we can’t wait to see where Cleopatra’s final resting place lies.
