Suits season 9 trailer: Mike Ross memories; Donna and Harvey

The latest Suits season 9 has arrived courtesy of the fine folks over at USA, and it’s all but guaranteed this one will make you emotional. It’s a look inside the final chapter of the firm’s life, or at least the one that we’re going to see. Maybe these characters still continue to practice law long after we’re gone, but we just don’t get an opportunity in order to really see it.

The trailer that CarterMatt has for you below is really more about nostalgia than it is anything else — you get glimpses in here of Mike Ross at the beginning of his journey, and some little moments in between. Rachel Zane isn’t forgotten, which we assumed she wouldn’t be given the Meghan Markle headlines that she still provides the series to this day. You see the early days of Mike and Harvey, some flirtatious moments from Harvey and Donna, and then us getting to the place that we’re at now.

Moving into season 9, the status of Harvey and Donna is center stage — it has to be. Now that the two finally got together, all bets are off. There’s no more beating around the bush or trying to find some other way to mask the feelings that have been there for ages. She is into him, he is into her, and they can be more than just colleagues. It’s not going to be easy, but so little of anything that we fight for in life is. They’ll have to learn during this season the proper way to battle through any setbacks that they have on their way towards hopefully being together.

So what else is of note? The promo reminds us of Samantha Wheeler’s struggle as she tries to figure out how to move forward without Robert Zane — her mentor and often the person she would do anything to help. Expect to see her becoming somewhat of a lost legal soul, looking for the right outlet or way to properly relay some of how she’s feeling and the sort of work she wants to do.

Elsewhere, Louis Litt will be addressing some changes in his life and you will be seeing Mike Ross back for at least one more occasion.
