Shameless season 10 spoilers: Who’s promoted to series regular?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kate Miner (who plays Tami) is going to be the latest series regular, effectively guaranteeing that she is locked in and has a big role on the upcoming story. This promotion may also represent that Shameless has locked in another female cast member, which is certainly important in the wake of Emmy Rossum’s exit as Fiona. Emma Kenney (Debbie) is the only remaining female Gallagher featured prominently on the show, and the upcoming episodes are going to focus heavily on her alongside Lip, Carl, Ian, and of course Frank at the center of everything. It also does look like Mickey is going to be around to a larger degree on the upcoming season, which we gotta think is good news for anyone who loves quality entertainment.
As for what we’re hoping to see from Lip and Tami now moving forward, wouldn’t some stability be nice? One of the classic rules of television that tends to flutter around out there is that in order to tell a great story, you need to, for whatever reason, have conflict. We don’t think that this is fully the case. We’d like to see the sort of conflict that comes from the two being together, including A) Frank probably intruding in their lives (as he is one to do) to go along with seeing precisely what happens when she’s around someone like Carl and Ian a little bit more. Could a Gallagher or two be jealous of the idea of Lip being in a relationship? We certainly wouldn’t rule that out.

More than anything, it may just be nice to see a member of the Gallagher family have something akin to a stable love interest, given that some of these people are not exactly the best at choosing all of the time. We do root for Ian and Mickey, but we can’t exactly say that we’ve seen the two of them around each other all that much as of late; with that, isn’t it kinda hard to render a good verdict of how the two of them are doing?
