Killjoys season 5 premiere date, teaser revealed via Syfy
Today, Syfy announced that the remaining episodes of the series are going to air starting on Friday, July 19 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern — meaning that you can finally count down until we make it to the date so many people have been waiting to check out. Killjoys fans have been waiting for even a slow drip of news for a while — it’s been clear for a long time now that season 5 was going to be the end of the road, and while that’s a bummer, this is the proper time to remember that there are PLENTY of Syfy shows that don’t even have the luxury of getting a final season. We kinda like just knowing that the writers had a chance to tie together this innovative, humorous, and always action-packed show.
Even the first teaser below gives you a good sense of the show’s tongue-in-cheek nature, proclaiming that “it’s the end of the galaxy one last time” before showcasing all of the characters in the midst of their latest battle and asking for good luck. Killjoys is the sort of show that definitely does test the imagination, but also tells grounded stories with some of its characters. It manages to strike the perfect tone where even in a world where not everything should be possible, it is and you buy into it without really spending all that much time thinking about it.
At least it’s nice to know when one Syfy summer show is coming back, since we’re not getting anywhere near all that lucky when it comes to getting advance info on Wynonna Earp. At this point, the future fate of that show still remains unclear after IDW failed to secure some of the adequate funding in order to deliver on a fourth season — let alone a fifth. We know we haven’t written about that situation all that much as of late, but rest assured, it’s still on our mind … and we’re still hoping that there’s going to be some sort of resolution on it sooner rather than later.
