NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 premiere date hopes on CBS

NCIS: Los Angeles

Wondering when the NCIS: Los Angeles season 11 premiere date could be … or maybe what some of the story could be ahead for Chris O’Donnell, LL Cool J, and some of your other favorites? Consider this article to be the first stepping stone on the path to many, one that will eventually end up with us watching TV a little bit later this fall.

Before we do anything else, how about sharing a fun fact, given that just about everyone loves fun facts and all? There’s already some work that has been done on season 11! NCIS: Los Angeles is one of the few shows on the air right now that is utilizing the practice of “banking’ episodes, where they film a new installment for the fall season in the spring, back when they are still in production for the current season. They’ve done this on a number of occasions in the past, and the move certainly is a show of confidence that they believe they’ll be coming back for another season. It also just allows them to get a head start on the future … and we imagine that it’s probably so much nicer filming new episodes of this show in the middle of the spring as opposed to the hottest months of summer (think July/August) — the show’s still gonna be back filming this summer, but it won’t be anywhere near as early.

As for the premiere date, keep your eyes peeled for either the last Sunday in September or the first in October — CBS tends to run a pretty tight ship when it comes to premiere dates for its shows, so we imagine that we’re going to see this season of the series roughly in around the same spot that we’ve seen some other ones.

As for the story…

Go ahead and assume that we’re going to get to the other side of the JAG crossover — this show is not JAG and as much fun as it is to see Harm and Mac back, we do need to get back to the core characters and explore some of their ins and outs a little more. That includes seeing more of Deeks and Kensi as newlyweds, and also explore a little bit further what Sam and Callen’s futures are going to be. Both of them have at least spent a little bit of time thinking about this now, whether it be in terms of their career or their love lives. That is a trend that we see continuity.

In general, we absolutely do expect a good bit more of Linda Hunt and her role of Hetty interspersed throughout the whole season. Last year, she was able to participate in most of the story after Hunt was in a car accident prior to filming. This time around, though, she should be around for most of the story (even if she is not present in every episode). We’d like to see that character woven through some sort of larger arc, especially with all of her different connections. She’s one of the most interesting people within the entire NCIS franchise just because she’s almost the super-spy equivalent of the grandmother who goes to the shopping mall and somehow knows every single person in the building.
