‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Nina Dobrev’s need

We’re going to be doubling down on all things related to “The Vampire Diaries” leading up to the season 4 premiere airing on Thursday; and with that, one of the things that we are focusing on the most at the moment is of course how Elena is going to handle being transformed into a vampire.

One thing we do know here straight out of the gate? This is not going to be an easy thing for her to deal with, especially as she gets used to some of the everyday vampire activities such as feeding. According to a new report from Zap2It, the second episode of the season (which carries with it the ominous episode title of “Memorial”) is going to focus primarily on Nina Dobrev’s character trying to find a blood source that suits her new and evolving pallete. Without one, she will end up dying for a second time … and on this occasion there would be no coming back at all. We know she’s probably not going to want to suck someone dry, but she could go the Stefan route from some of the first two seasons and go find some animals to take care of the problem.

As for another key storyline for the show during this episode, Elena is also going to compel someone for the first time. Who is it? We’re betting on either Jeremy, Matt, or Bonnie, mostly because there really aren’t that many human characters actually left on the show anymore thanks to it becoming now a giant vampire party.
