The Big Bang Theory series finale filming tonight; see cast messages
Tonight is a historic night for everyone associated with The Big Bang Theory. As it turns out, this is the final night of filming for the show, and it marks the last chance that the entirety of the cast will be in front of the live audience. This is going to be an emotional affair, and one that will probably create more of a challenge for the entire cast. It’s the challenge of finding their way through it, and then also expressing just how much they care about this show and the source material to go along with it.
Of course, with tonight being the final taping for the show, the cast has done their part to document much of the progress leading up to the final bow. Below, you can see via Instagram messages from some of the main cast members as they work their way through the end of the series. Johnny Galecki and others paid a visit to some fans in the holding area, Kunal Nayyar posted an exceptional thank-you to everyone who has watched the show, Melissa Rauch shared a lovely image featuring the entire cast, and you have a wonderful tribute from Jim Parsons to go along with it.
If you haven’t heard, the series is reportedly ending due to Parsons opting to move on from the show. There isn’t any negativity because of it — these are just people who have all been a part of this great family for so many years. Many of them have been there from the beginning. They’re a family and of course after twelve years, there is a desire for some to want to move forward and do some other things.
The Big Bang Theory series finale is going to air on CBS come May 16. We’re expecting that this is going to be a lovely conclusion to this show that packs in a lot of emotion and reminders of who these characters were at the start … and also who they are now. We’d be shocked if there weren’t at least a few cameos wedged in here at some point.
