Is Supergirl new tonight? Season 4 episode 18 expectations

Supergirl season 4 episode 3

Is Supergirl new tonight on The CW? Given where things are in this story right now, we certainly feel like there’s more enthusiasm around the show than there’s been all year … which is why it’s so ironic that now is when they decide take a break.

What we’ve learned about Supergirl over the past month or so really stems from one person: Lex Luthor. The man is awful (but Jon Cryer as Lex has been everything we ever could’ve wanted!). We don’t think that we’re dropping some huge bomb on anyone when we say that, but that doesn’t make it any less true. This is a man who has certainly done a lot of terrible stuff over the past few weeks and there’s likely more of his machinations still to come. For now, though, we don’t think that Kara can really look too far ahead when instead, she has to focus on the gigantic issue right in front of her. In the eyes of the United States government, Supergirl is now the enemy. She’s being framed for what happened at the White House and she’s going to deal with a resistance and a hatred that she’s never felt before. The heartbreaking nature of this season, for better or for worse, is that Supergirl has done nothing other than to try and make people feel a little safer. Yet, now these same people are rejecting her.

In the promo that CarterMatt has for you below, you see Kara effectively doing what she can to rebel back. She’s not going to abandon the Earth, even if the Earth is acting like it is ready to abandon her. She keeps doing what she does in a hyper-determined state and hope that someone doesn’t try and kill her in the process.

Are things really this terrible? Sure. Is it true that she doesn’t have even Alex? Absolutely, but Supergirl doesn’t give up and that’s one of the main messages that this show has always put forward and one of the reasons that we really love this series. The rest of this season could end up being a story all about utmost determination and someone refusing to accept things even when they appear to be impossible. This is a show that sends out a positive message and clearly, there are no plans to slow things down with that … even if things are rather bad right now. There’s still a new sunrise and a new dawn for some of these characters. National City needs her and the Arrowverse itself needs her given how much depressing stuff is happening elsewhere.
