Is Hawaii Five-0 new tonight on CBS? Season 9 episode 20 tease

Hawaii Five-0

Is Hawaii Five-0 new tonight on CBS? Obviously, the demand is there to revisit Oahu and spend a little bit more time with Steve, Danny, Tani, Grover, Junior, and many of your other favorites. The problem is that as viewers, we’re entirely at the mercy of a network … one that wants to show college basketball instead.

Tonight, the entire Friday lineup is being preempted due to March Madness, and the bad news is that this is not the only week where this is going to be taking place. Next week, Hawaii Five-0, Blue Bloods, and MacGyver are also all taking a breather, but they will return come April 5. This is standard-operating procedure for CBS this time of year — put their popular shows off the air, deal with some fan outcry, but then get back to some of them in due time. The one plus to the break, beyond it giving casual viewers a chance to catch back up, is that it means you’ll probably have a chance to see more new episodes in succession the rest of the season. We can’t sit here and tout any guarantees that you’ll get a new episode every week from now until the show airs its finale, but the ratio will definitely be in favor of new installments. That includes “Ke ala o ka pū” (“Way of the Gun”), the first one back after the hiatus.

Want a few details all about it? Then check out the official Hawaii Five-0 season 9 episode 20 synopsis:

“Ke ala o ka pū” – Five-0 must locate a teen girl who purchased a gun from a junkie, and discover that the firearm, over the course of decades, has affected all of their lives, on HAWAII FIVE-0, Friday, April 5 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

As you can see from that alone, this is an atypical episode of the show that will shockingly link a single firearm to several characters at important parts of their lives. This gun’s journey starts all the way back with Steve’s father when he was just a child, and then continues forward to Danny’s first day on the job before closing out to Tani’s life before she became a cop. All of these different things are going to be roped into this one package, and we think the point of this episode will be showing how one object can link all of these characters together. Beyond that, maybe this is a story about how difficult it can be to remove a firearm from the streets once it is there. Some of these are in the hands of capable law-enforcement professionals, but we certainly know through years of this show (plus real life) how difficult it can be when a firearm falls into the wrong hands.

There is a sense of urgency within this episode — not so much because of the gun’s past, but because of the present. What is this girl planning to do with the weapon? That’s what Five-0 needs to figure out, and then also try to resolve before it’s too late?
