Blue Bloods season 9 episode 19 spoilers: More on Delgado’s return!

Blue Bloods season 9

There’s a chance you know already that Lou Diamond Phillips is on his way back to Blue Bloods as cartel hitman Luis Delgado. There’s also a compelling reason to bring him back — there’s a dark history there, as the two have gone toe-to-toe really ever since the start of this season. Delgado’s shown himself to be not just an architect for the fire that burned down Danny’s old home, but also having information about what really happened to Linda.

Since Delgado’s last appearance, we’ve long wondered this: How is Danny coping with what he’s learned? We feel like for a long time, he was able to get by knowing that Linda’s death was an accident and he had nothing to do with that. That paradigm and that timeline is good. Delgado shook that up like a vicious snow-globe.

Blue Bloods season 9 episode 19, which comes your way on April 12, is your silver lining. This is where Phillips will resurface, and this is where he and Danny will actually team up in order to capture someone who both of them want behind bars. There’s a reason why “Common Enemies” is the title here! For more news, check out the official synopsis:

“Common Enemies” – After someone breaks into Luis Delgado’s (Lou Diamond Phillips) home and kills his wife, Luis and Danny team up to take down the vicious murderer who may also be responsible for Linda’s death. Also, Frank finally meets Eddie’s mother, Lena (Christine Ebersole), and Jamie and Erin are at odds after Jamie seeks her help charging a man who confessed to him while under the influence, on BLUE BLOODS, Friday, April 12 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

The return of Phillips is the main event, mostly because there are few things better than a toe-to-toe showdown between Danny and Delgado … or watching these two men start to cope with being widowers and sharing in that pain. They may not like each other and they may not have anything else in common, but they’re going to understand some of this hurt. They’re going to realize just what it’s like feeling like you’re at the bottom of the earth with no way to climb out of that hole.

So what’s happening elsewhere?

The meeting between Eddie’s mom and Frank is clearly worthy of an A-story in it’s own right — you’re getting Tom Selleck and Christine Ebersole face-to-face! The meeting of the in-laws is a time-honored pre-wedding tradition; very often, it does end in disaster, so we don’t want to make any guarantees for how it goes down here. We’re really just glad that the opportunity exists to see it given that Blue Bloods is so police based, there are small moments and scenes that often get left out. These are what happens in between cases and on those rare moments where characters actually get a chance to go home and have their forty winks.

Remember…

Blue Bloods is return on Friday, April 5 with new episodes. There is no new installment this week, and beyond that, the NCAA Tournament is bumping it again on March 29.
