The Blacklist season 6 episode 12 preview: ‘Bastien Moreau: Conclusion’

Next week, The Blacklist season 6 episode 12 is giving you a gift — or, to be specific, the second part of “Bastien Moreau.” Expect a showdown with the Corsican and beyond just that, be prepared for Raymond Reddington’s life to hang in the balance. It did tonight, but that’s going to continue as we step towards the immediate future.

We think that there is one question worth wondering more than any other: How far will Cooper go in order to ensure that Reddington’s life is spared? He’s a man of great integrity, but through the entirety of this show, we’ve seen lines get a little bit foggy. More than likely, that fog’s just about to get a little bit thicker as desperation grows and then time runs out.

Below, CarterMatt has the official The Blacklist season 6 episode 12 synopsis with more news as to what’s coming:

03/22/2019 (09:00PM – 10:00PM) (Friday) : Cooper (Harry Lennix) puts his reputation on the line to appeal to the White House on Red’s (James Spader) behalf, as Liz (Megan Boone) and the Task Force resume their search for The Corsican (guest star Christopher Lambert), a Blacklister with ties to an international conspiracy. Meanwhile, Samar’s (Mozhan Marno) abilities in the field are tested. Jennifer Ferrin and Benito Martinez also guest star. TV-14 D, L, V

We’ve come to know a little bit about the Corsican since his debut earlier this season, and most of it is pretty awful. This is a bad dude capable of really bad things — just remember what happened at the UN a little bit earlier on this season. He’ll be linked to a lot of important stuff within the larger narrative and we’re anticipating some sort of significant showdown between him and the FBI.

So what else can you expect?

We know that Samar’s story is an emotional one and is certainly not going to be resolved anytime soon. In taking on aphasia as a storyline, the writers are actually showing that on this show, near-death situations have actual, terrible consequences. This is in pretty stark contrast to what you see elsewhere on TV, where characters seem to jump out of a Lazarus Pit okay a few episodes after going through a near-death experience.

No matter what happens within this episode, perhaps remember this first and foremost: The show will go on! There’s at least one more season coming up on NBC after this one, and that’s without even mentioning that we’ve only reached right now the halfway point of this season. There is so much in the way of exciting stuff coming up in the near future that could shock, surprise, or even horrify you. Within the world of The Blacklist, we’re confident that any of these are possible.
