MacGyver season 3 episode 18 return date: Murdoc mayhem
Originally, this episode (entitled “Murdoc + Helman + Hit”) was meant to come on the air tonight, as episode 17 was supposed to air on CBS last week. As you already know, that didn’t happen. The episode was pushed back due to the now-infamous R. Kelly interview and here we are. We don’t think the move would be so bad if we were just getting to see this episode next week … but we’re not. Instead, we have to wait all the way until April 5! That’s a long, long time to see Murdoc and Nicholas Helman back on this show, preparing for what is a face-off between baddies that is truly epic in scope. Helman is Murdoc’s mentor and in that way, the student now has to best him. For more, just take a look at the official synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:
“Murdoc + Helman + Hit” – When Nicholas Helman (Michael Des Barres) resurfaces to carry out a killing spree, the Phoenix is forced to get help from the one person who knows him best… his protégé, Murdoc, on MACGYVER, Friday, April 5 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.
From the Phoenix perspective, what we wonder here is this: What is Murdoc going to want in return? He’s not the sort of villain who’s going to smile and agree to some demands from his captors. How much does he really have to lose? MacGyver and co. are good people, and we hardly think that they’re going to poke and prod at him to force him to do anything. Also, he’ll realize that Team Phoenix would have to be really DESPERATE to seek him out, since we don’t think anyone is spending a lot of time hanging out with this guy.
This negotiation is one fascinating part of this episode, and the other part is simply seeing some of the craziness play out. Helman is a dangerous guy who’s been a part of this game for a really long time. He knows all of Murdoc’s tricks … so he’s going to need to come up with some new ones. If you love action, or if you just love MacGyver history, this is episode is going to be one for the books. We feel lucky that we’re getting to see two episodes of Des Barres and David Dastmalchian in the first place — after season 1, we didn’t know if the original Murdoc would be turning up at all!
