NBC’s ‘The Voice’: Hear Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green’s Christmas duet

There are quite a few Christmas albums hitting stores this holiday season, and ironically, two of them are actually going to be featuring coaches from “The Voice.” Blake Shelton just released his first holiday album “Cheers, It’s Christmas” today, and in a matter of four weeks Cee Lo Green is going to be following him up with his own “Cee Lo’s Magic Moment.”

Now, we have a first look at one of Cee Lo’s new songs in his version of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” and he managed to find the perfect accompaniment courtesy of Christina Aguilera for the song. Even though this is only a 90-second preview of the real thing, in our mind this really is what the perfect Christmas song should be on a modern album. It manages to not only capture a certain element of the song that we came to know and love so many years ago, but it also manages to bring a little bit of something extra to the table beyond just a familiar melody. Cee Lo and Christina make some interesting choices with their voices, and we’re starting to really think that this could be a nice collection of songs. It’s ironic that with a show called “The Voice,” two of the most distinctive voices in all of music are finding a way to do some beautiful things together in the recording studio.

Ironically, this song comes out just one day after Christina released the music video for her song “Your Body,” which is currently climbing up the radio charts. We assume that Christina will be performing this song on an upcoming live show, just as we are sure that Cee Lo will bring out some Christmas cheer of his own later on.
