Into the Badlands season 3: Cast, producers react to show ending

Into the Badlands season 3 episode 9 return date

We’re still trying to make sense of the idea that Into the Badlands season 3 is going to be the final one on AMC, and in all honesty, we’re not sure that it will ever settle in completely. We’re going to miss this show dearly. It’s one of the most unique series on all of television, one that found a way to introduce martial-arts to television in a way that it hadn’t quite been before. It is visually stunning, well-acted, and it finds a way to incorporate a little bit of humor here and there.

We do feel like years down the road, this is one of those shows that could develop a second life and viewers down the road could discover and love it — but, for now, three seasons is seemingly all we’re getting.

Below, you can see the reactions from cast members Nick Frost and Daniel Wu, alongside series executive producer Al Gough. You can tell just from these messages how much everyone cared about this show, its creativity, and its spirit. We do wish that the journey had been different for the show over the past year in particular — we were worried the moment that we realized that there was a super-long hiatus following the end of season 3A. It was also there when we saw some of the declining ratings.

If there is a silver lining, it’s this: The writers and talent seem confident that there’s an excellent ending at the end of the season. That’s enough of a reason to continue this journey. Not every show gets to last as long as they should, so you really just have to enjoy the ride however long you have them. That is precisely how we are choosing to look at the situation here.
