We know that this is a series that does often find itself deeply immersed in drama; yet, at the same exact time there are those moments of happiness and joy sprinkled in. This is something that could be coming in this particular episode courtesy of Nurse Crane, as we start to see her love life explored courtesy of a new arrival! That could prove to be quite fun, at least depending on how the story goes.

As for what is coming for everyone else in this episode, let’s just say that we imagine things are going to be a little bit less fun — especially for Sister Julienne, who finds herself in an almost-possible situation involving a mother and daughter who are pregnant at the same time. For a few more details, be sure to check out the Call the Midwife season 8 episode 4 synopsis that CarterMatt has for you below:

Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) is drawn into a family rift between an estranged mother and daughter who are both pregnant.

Trixie’s Keep Fit class is chosen to host a fitness Jamboree, but her star pupil is devastated to discover she is pregnant.

Meanwhile Nurse Crane (Linda Bassett) realises she has an admirer, and Sister Frances’ (Ella Bruccoleri) shyness starts to concern Sister Julienne.

Trixie’s Keep Fit class is back! There’s something that is rather nostalgic about that, mostly because it does remind us of the past few seasons of the show. A big part of what makes this series so great is that there are so many wrinkles to almost every character. We understand that they often do everything that they can to ensure that these people are not just midwives on the job; there are some other interesting aspects about every single one of them.

As for Sister Frances’ shyness, this understandably could relate to why she decided to be a nun in the first place — it’s a chance to be a part of a specific community, separate from the world. Yet, in Poplar, there are certain social skills that need to be developed and this story could be largely about that.
