Is Madam Secretary new tonight on CBS? Season 5 episode 13 teases

Is Madam Secretary new tonight on CBS? We know that it would be nice to get a little bit more of the Tea Leoni series. After all, just think about everything that is going on with the show! We’re getting closer to a Presidential campaign announcement for Elizabeth McCord, and that’s something that is rolling around in the back of our head.

Unfortunately, we are going to be waiting a little while still to learn more information on that or virtually any other story, as well. There is no new episode coming on the network tonight, and you’re going to have to wait until we get around to next Sunday to get a good sense of what’s next. As unfortunate as that may be, we’ve certainly had longer hiatuses with this over the years.

As for some of what we’re going to see over the course of this upcoming episode, it seems as though a battle with Russia is going to be at the top of the list. For now, it seems to be mostly a strategic battle, but there does need to be an awareness here on the part of everyone involved that if things escalate, we could see it turn into something so much more.

So what about the Presidential run?

We certainly think that we’re going to get some sort of announcement on it by the end of this season, mostly because that would follow the pattern of a number of other Presidential run announcements that we’ve seen. Some candidates have already made it clear that they are going to seek office in the real world, and we certainly think that Elizabeth will do the same on the show by May. That way, we at least have some more closure on that subject in the event the series does end this year. (We hope that it doesn’t, but we have to be prepared for that possibility.)

Also, announcing the campaign publicly this season allows for a very different sort of season 6, one that you could end with a flash-forward to election night if you so wanted. We don’t actually need to see Elizabeth as President to be satisfied, but getting some buildup would be night.
