Poldark season 5 spoilers: Is an Outlander actor coming on board?

Poldark

Are fandoms colliding, and is a particularly notable face from Outlander coming on board Poldark for its fifth and final season? That’s the suggestion we are getting via social media.

In a new post on Instagram, Andrew Gower (who played Prince Charles Edward Stuary on the second season of the Starz drama) strongly suggests that he is playing James Hadfield on the BBC drama series. If Gower’s role here is based on what we know about history, Hadfield was a man who attempted to assassinate George III in 1800, but was latest acquitted of the crime by means of insanity. This does fit the era of Poldark rather perfectly, and it will be rather interesting to see what exactly the show decides to do with this particular story if they want to really dive into this.

What we’re going to see on the final season of Poldark should prove interesting just because there are going to be some changes from the social material. It does open up opportunities in order to see these characters in different places, while also still touching up some familiar themes that you known quite well from the Winston Graham books.

If you haven’t watching Outlander, then there is a reasonably good chance you’re familiar with Gower from some of his other work. After all, he has appeared in such other series including AD: The Bible Continues, Being Human, The White Queen, and more. This is someone who’s got a rather-impressive resume of TV work behind him and while he’s not going to have a chance to continue whatever he does on Poldark, there is still an opportunity for more good stuff down the line.

Poldark season 5 is going to continue filming for at least a little while longer, though the end if very much almost here. Our expectation is that it will premiere this summer in the United Kingdom and then in the fall on PBS in the United States. Once there is more news to report on when it comes to the show, we’ll of course have some of that for you here.
