Death in Paradise season 8 episode 3 preview: A TV presenter’s murder…
Well, in true Death in Paradise fashion, nothing is 100% as it seems and there’s going to be a good reason to suspect foul play in her death. First, that reason will come via the evidence, but then more motives could be uncovered over time. Following that, there will be another murder. This is a case that will test everyone in Saint Marie, and there could be some international implications here as well. The tourism board isn’t going to be altogether pleased with this murder investigation — we feel for these people in general given all the death that seems to happen here!
Basically, we’re trying to say that this is a case that the entire investigative team needs to get right — even in the midst of whatever is going on in their personal lives. As any Death in Paradise viewer knows at this point, there’s always going to be a balance between what’s happening for these people personally and what they’re taking on when it comes to the job.
For a few more details now on the case, and some of the personal stories we’re going to get, CarterMatt has the official Death in Paradise season 8 episode 3 synopsis for you below:
DI Jack Mooney (Ardal O’Hanlon) and the team are mystified when Catrina McVey (Kimberley Nixon), the presenter of TV holiday programme Hot Shots, is found washed up on the shore near her Paradise Bay hotel, after taking a midnight dip.
Her body is found by her producer and director Bill Calder (Ron Cook) and production co-ordinator Pippa Mayhew (Olivia Poulet). Whilst the initial evidence points towards accidental drowning, Jack is troubled by marks on the victim’s neck.
With DS Cassell (Josephine Jobert) away for a romantic weekend with Patrice (Leemore Marrett Jr), JP (Tobi Bakare) steps up to help DI Mooney investigate, and it’s the second case for new recruit Ruby (Shyko Amos) as JP continues to show her the ropes. Meanwhile, Commissioner Selwyn (Don Warrington) keeps a close eye on the case – with the Saint Marie tourist board up in arms about the murder.
A secret affair, seemingly unrequited love and rocky working relationships all cast doubt over the Hot Shots production team, as another member of the crew is murdered.
There is another mystery for DI Jack Mooney with the disappearance of his new lodger – Sherman the mongoose! And Florence (Josephine Jobert) returns with big news…
