Celebrity Big Brother 2 spotlight: Kato Kaelin’s new source of notoriety

The entire Celebrity Big Brother 2 cast is now official, and with that we’re spending this week previewing what to expect from many of them! Consider this article series your guide to understanding what each person brings to the table and also whether or not they have a legitimate chance of winning. In this piece, the focus is on Kato Kaelin, someone who is a somewhat-surprising casting choice for a reality show in 2019. Nonetheless, he seems to know the show reasonably well from what we can gather. (He was actually in attendance at the Big Brother 20 finale and was seated next to Omarosa.)

Claim to Fame – Kaelin is an actor and a host, but is undeniably best known as a key witness during the OJ Simpson trial. He was one of the most recognizable figures in the case, as he was staying at a guest home at the time of the murders and documented some of the accused’s movements both before and after the murders took place. He’s also been featured in a number of different ways since the trial, and was presented as a character in The People v. OJ Simpson.

Strengths -Kaelin is a little bit of an enigma, and that probably helps him entering the show this year. Other than the OJ Simpson case, it’s hard to think that people on this season will know all that much about him. He may be able to use that to his advantage, since he can weave his way in and out of different alliances and could easily be underestimated. We do think that he’s used to intense environments, so nothing within the game should stress him out all that much and that can be key in getting to the end of this game. Big Brother is a very hard game to play.

Weaknesses – He’s one of the older contestants this season, and we don’t think he’s going to be all that much of a threat in any of the competitions. You also have to wonder if he’ll be in some ways an odd man out. Some of the other celebrities may know each other on some level, and we’re not sure if they will have the same familiarity with Kaelin. He’s going to have to work overtime in order to assimilate into the larger group and show himself to be a valuable commodity and friend within the game.

Outlook This Season – We think that Kaelin knowing the game to a certain degree helps him, and maybe he is someone who can rely on the fact that he’ll probably be underestimated for at least a good while. His larger problem is going to just come in finding a way to fit in. He’s older than many of the other contestants, he’s famous for a very specific thing, and we’re not sure if he will be able to win the trust of the other people so quickly.
