This Is Us season 3 episode 11 will answer all Nicky questions

Just in case the Nicky mystery on This Is Us season 3 was starting to get to you, we come bearing good news: Answers are on the way! Not only that, but said answers will be here sooner than you think.

We knew that this week’s “Songbird Road: Part 1” was going to offer up some information regarding Jack’s uncle Nicky. Yet, we didn’t quite realize that the writers were basically set to unleash every single big secret that they had within a short period of time.

Speaking via E! News, though, executive producer Isaac Aptaker makes it clear that on this episode almost every single answer you could want about Nicky, his departure from the war, and more will be revealed:

“So next week, everything is going to be answered about Nicky … We’re going to tell exactly what happened with him and Jack, why Jack said he was dead when he wasn’t, what everyone knew when… It’s such a cool episode, and it has so many answers, and that’s when people are going to be really satisfied …. This is the opposite of a slow burn. This is exactly what happened, this is everything I need to know, a packed hour.”

So why cram so much information about Nicky into a single hour? Well, we think a big part of that may have to do with the show not wanting to draw this out for the sake of drawing it out. “Songbird Road” as a two-parter may do a good job of wrapping up the past for Nicky; that way, moving forward the story can be all about the future and whether or not there is one there. The Pearsons deserve an opportunity to get to know this man if they want to — or, if they want to be able to move forward with their lives and have him in the rear-view mirror, they deserve that opportunity. While there is that part of us that feels like Jack should have really told everyone the truth about this man, it’s easy to say that from the outside looking in. One of the things that we’ve come to know about Jack is that he does almost everything for a reason. This probably qualifies for it as well, with the prevailing thought being that he was trying to keep his family safe.
