Ransom season 3 premiere date announced, plus The Red Line, The Code
Today, the network confirmed that Ransom season 3 is going to officially premiere on Saturday, February 16 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern — it remains that rare series that the network is fine to keep broadcasting on that night, largely because it’s a Canadian import that they’re not so financially invested in. They’re fine to do this — really, we’re just happy that they are continuing to put the series on the air at all.
As for the other premiere dates released today…
The Code – The new legal series, which feels a lot like JAG for a new generation, will start on Monday, April 15 — the week after Magnum PI is going to wrap up its season 1 run. The cast includes Dana Delaney, Chicago Med actor Ato Essandoh, and also Blindspot alum Luke Mitchell.
Take a look at the full series logline below:
The military’s brightest minds take on our country’s toughest challenges inside the courtroom and out, where each attorney is trained as a prosecutor, a defense lawyer, an investigator — and a Marine.
The Red Line – Meanwhile, we also know the way now that CBS is rolling out the Noah Wyle series, which they are rolling out as a major TV event more so than a typical show. This show will premiere starting on Sunday, April 28 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern and will run with four straight weeks. During this span of time, NCIS: Los Angeles season 10 is going to be pushing back to 10:00 p.m. Eastern.
After a white cop in Chicago mistakenly shoots and kills a black doctor, we follow three different families that all have connections with the case as the story is told from each perspective.
Will this actually work? It’s a risky move for CBS and with that, we are very interested in seeing how this show shakes out.
Of course, we’re excited for all of these different shows, but for The Code in particular we wonder if it can be looped in somehow to the world of JAG or any of the other shows that are out there within the greater NCIS universe as a whole. There’s a lot to be excited about here as a whole, mostly due to the fact that CBS is really going in hard with a lot of different programming. They’re making sure that there are very few holes or opening when it comes to their schedule at large.
