Ray Donovan season 7 premiere date hopes for Liev Schreiber, cast
Let’s start things off here with a reminder that Showtime has already renewed Ray Donovan season 7, not that this comes as all that much of a surprise in the first place. The network officially renewed the series last year, and we do think that they are very much happy with it. While the ratings for season 6 are down in total viewers from season 5, we think that a lot of this is just due to the fact that live ratings in general are down across all of television. We think that there are more viewers watching now either early on the app or via DVR; the show’s popularity is still very much there!
As for when season 7 of Ray Donovan is going to premiere, the jury is still out on that. If we had to guess, though, we’d say that the likely scenario is that it will arrive either in late 2019 or early 2020, as filming is going to be taking place this year in New York City. With that in mind, it looks as though the show’s shift over to the Big Apple is at least reasonably permanent — maybe it’s not something that they are going to do forever, but there is clearly an interest in getting to set the show here a little while longer.
Now, let’s spend a moment discussing the question that we know some people may not necessarily want to think about at the moment — could this be the final season of the show? Is it possible that the series could be coming to a close shortly? We’re at that point in the series right now where these questions should be pondered over, but for now, we don’t think that we’re going to be saying goodbye just yet. More than likely, there is going to be enough gas left in the tank for at least one more season beyond this one — after all, most of the iconic Showtime dramas including Shameless and Homeland have made it at least to eight seasons. This is also how long Dexter and Weeds ran before coming to a close.
We feel like there will be some more time to look towards the future of Ray Donovan down the road — for now, just be hopeful that you’ll see some more of the show down the line.
