The Resident season 2 episode 12: Glee alum Dot-Marie Jones returns

The Resident

Want to have another reason to be excited about The Resident season 2 episode 12? Well, for starters, you’re going to get a chance to see Dot-Marie Jones back as Meg! You first saw the Glee alum on the show earlier this year and now, she’s going to be coming back on the show — but this time more in a medical capacity rather than a prison one.

Before we say too much more, CarterMatt has the official The Resident season 2 episode 12 synopsis for you with some other news:

When a nasty flu season turns out to be masking a terribly infectious disease, Chastain must race to quarantine and diagnose infected patients. While Conrad, Nic and Alec work tirelessly on Meg (guest star Dot-Marie Jones), who was Nic’s favorite guard from her stint in prison, Devon and the others treat Sam (guest star Michael Rady), a love-sick patient with flu-like symptoms. Mina finds herself testing Quovadis medical devices in an effort to defend Dr. AJ Austin, who, feeling responsible for the death of a patient, is serving penance by staying away from the OR. Meanwhile, Conrad is prepared to take the next step with Nic, but finds that she may not be as ready in the all-new “Fear Finds A Way” episode of THE RESIDENT airing Monday, Jan. 28 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. (RES-212) (TV-14 L, V)

We have a lot excitement with having Jones back, given that she was probably one of the most-underrated performers on Glee as a whole over the course of its run. Beyond that, there are a number of other fascinating stories here worthy of some attention, including the idea of seeing AJ in a more vulnerable, devastated spot. This is something we’ve been hoping to see, and beyond that we’re hoping that this episode could be a tangible opportunity to see some more movement forward on the Quovadis storyline. After all, if Julian dies on Monday’s premiere episode, there are not any other paths forward.

Finally, there’s also the idea of Conrad and Nic getting closer, but also something still holding the two of them back. While the writing has made it abundantly clear that these two could be destined to be together, at the same time the easy path is not the one we want to see for them.
