Shadowhunters exec shows off People’s Choice Awards trophies
Odds are, the majority of you reading this article are well-aware of the show’s monumental victory at the People’s Choice Awards last year, mostly because it’s rather-unusual for a cable series to win multiple trophies at this award show. It’s a rare feat, especially when you think about the total audiences of some of the series Shadowhunters competed against. Yet, the fans prevailed and because of that, this show gets to live on forever in PCA lore.

In post on Twitter below, you can see two trophies via Slavkin that he and fellow showrunner Darren Swimmer can keep and celebrate in posterity. They’ve done a fantastic job with seasons 2 and 3 and deserve a chance to bask in a little bit of glory.
Now, we just hope that fans can do the same thing when season 3 launches near the end of February. We’re already getting the sense that we’re gearing up for a fun promotional campaign for the remaining episodes — mostly because the show’s base wants it to be so. While we cannot guarantee much of anything when it comes to what Freeform as a network wants to do, we are least getting a good signal that there will be a number of fan-created posters, previews, and other good stuff hoping to get the show a little bit more attention. Regardless of if anything happens beyond the third season, it makes sense to want Shadowhunters to make a little bit more of a splash. We’d love to see the season 3 midseason premiere deliver some of the best ratings in a rather-long time.
If nothing else, maybe these final episodes can lift Shadowhunters to more awards nominations a little bit further on down the road? That could help to keep the show in the spotlight, and at the forefront of many viewers’ minds, for a little while longer still.
